“Let there be light…”*
When we were offered the chance to design the Royal Mail’s limited edition Christmas 2011 Coin Cover it “turned our world upside down”.*
In order to really appreciate the design of the original bible a trip was made to the British Library. It was a privilege to leaf through this piece of history and proved to be truly inspirational. A rich visual approach was taken with key styling cues taken from this fabulous piece of literature. The ultimate design proved to be a “labour of love”* and one we are proud of.
The Coin Cover features the Christmas 2011 stamps alongside a commemorative £2 coin issued by the Royal Mint to mark the anniversary. The informative insert card covers the history of the development of the King James Bible and its legacy.
